Used to be a Catholic, but have recently turned away from the religion (and all religions to be exact, though I respect people's decisions to practice their faiths). I am now a pure Evolutionist, in that humans are simply animals who evolved much faster then everything else. When we die, we go no where special, we simply become food for other species, continuing the cycle of life.
I have also recently become vegetarian. I know what you're thinking...An Evolutionist, Vegetarian. Doesn't sound right does it? I've chosen to not eat meat because of the large companies that bring it to our stores. Many of these companies hire people who put the animals through pain and torture before they are eventually killed, so I do not eat or buy their products because I feel that I should not be supporting them. Humans were not made to cage animals up for unlimited food. If I want meat, I would go hunting, kill an animal, and eat it, which is what we are meant to do. I would not subject animals to constant pain and suffering, while hurting the environment at the same time.
